Raised on a steady diet of cartoons, Punk Rock and Catholicism, Katie "Kate Tastrophe" Cain was a deviant in the making for quite some time. While attending Chicago's Columbia College in the early 90s, studying illustration and graphic design, Kate became a major nightcrawler, clubgoer and professional dominatrix.
Following graduation, Kate took on freelance work in both illustration and slave-keeping. In 1998 she began tattooing, perfectly chanelling both her artistic drives and her sadistic impulses into one streamlined operation.
Beginning in 2005, Kate began to focus on gallery work and quickly developed a following for what became to be known as "The Nasty Rubber Girls". Between tattooing and painting, she has taken her work across America and to Europe, and is still going strong today.
